Nationality: To be eligible for appointment, candidates must be nationals of a Member State of the Organization. Nationals of unrepresented Member States namely; Cabo Verde, The Gambia, Kingdom of Lesotho, Liberia, Mauritius, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, and Somalia are strongly encouraged to apply.
Job Purpose
To support the development and delivery of the communications strategy, initiatives, and programmes, and provide inputs into the design, management, and implementation of activities connected to organization-wide stakeholder engagement to elevate the ARIPO brand.

Principal Duties
1. Provide background information and data for the development, implementation, and review of the Organization-wide communications strategy.
2. Participate in the development and/or implementation of brand guidelines, and work plans.
3. Gather data on global IP trends and media coverage for decision-making.
4. Participate in outreach initiatives, exhibitions, symposiums, etc., to build greater awareness of the ARIPO system and its benefits among users and potential users.
5. Craft creative content, feature articles, news stories, and graphics for social media, press, website, and digital communication channels.
6. Support the production process in-house and in collaboration with external stakeholders, including global communications colleagues to ensure accurate and timely production of digital collateral that reflects ARIPO Brand Guidelines and standards.
7. Assist in the development and publishing of quality institutional documents, reports, and publicity materials.
8. Assist in the implementation of the social media strategy with measurable Key Performance Indicators to grow our social media channels in support of the ARIPO brand, capacity building and other communications and publicity initiatives.
9. Manage the ARIPO social media channels, including creating and posting content, managing comments, and scheduling content.
10. Support the influencer growth strategy with research and engagement with online influencers.
11. Support the delivery of the ARIPO digital marketing strategy.
12. Conduct research and compile data and information/inputs for background papers, talking points, speeches, correspondence, reports, official statements, project proposals, and other publicity materials.
13. Develop a database of reference materials highlighting ARIPO programmes and activities.
Qualification and Experience
- - Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Marketing/Public Relations/Commerce/Law/ Business Studies, or related field
- - Five (5) years relevant work experience.
- - A professional qualification in Digital Marketing is a distinct added advantage.

Conditions Of Employment
Salary and allowances on first appointment shall be those applicable to Grade L2 Step 1 of the ARIPO salary scales of the professional category.
Base Salary: US$40,882 per annum.
Benefits include:
- - Post Adjustment Allowance: 47.1% of base salary (this varies depending on the rise and fall in value of the United States dollar);
- - Payment of travel and removal expenses;
- - Once-off installation grant;
- - Education grant of US$9,000 per year for each eligible dependent child up to a maximum of three children;
- - Housing allowance;
- - Dependency allowance of US$1,800 per year for a dependent child;
- - Contributory medical aid scheme;
- - 30 days annual leave; and
- - Paid home leave every two years.
Medical examination: The appointment is subject to a satisfactory United Nations-type medical examination to be conducted by an ARIPO-nominated medical practitioner.
